The Gallery at Black Rock will be showing the paintings, sculpture drawings and a large-scale installation by Ted Mikulski. Mikulski is a Connecticut artist based in Southington Ct, he received his Masters in Architecture from Norwich University but quickly realized that visual arts was his true calling. The Gallery is excited to be mounting its first ever large-scale installation project with the artist. Desaturation or The Revelation of Coloration is an exploration of balance between the two elements of art that everyone must adhere to: Color or Non-color. Mikulski’s work has traditionally been about the bursts of color and the beautiful interactions that color can produce. In his more recent explorations he has tackled the idea of creating solely with a gray-scale palette. By taking color out of the equation, the work goes back to back to basic forms and to simpler figurative work. The show will open with an Artist Reception on January 22nd 2010 and will run through February 26th 2010 Gallery Hours are from 11am until 5:30 pm Thursday through Saturday. ** The Gallery requests that attendees of the opening reception make a contribution of five dollars to Doctors Without Borders to help with the Haitian relief effort. Checks made directly to the organization would be preferred but cash will also be accepted. THE GALLERY AT BLACK ROCK 203 . 814 . 6856 2861 FAIRFIELD AVE. BRIDGEPORT, CT | ||
